ABOUT
Hi I am Amelia Silvestro. I am a graphic designer from Boston, Massachusetts. I specialize in brand design, branding, and social media content design. My goal is to create work that is lively and fun, but light at the same time. I am currently a senior at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. My portfolio showcases my love for making others laugh and have fun, as well as my love for the small details.
Most of my work plays into one of my strengths: humor. The type of humor I often showcase is dark humor. This can be seen in my piece Bad Omens or Hot Hair Heads. Often, my pieces stem from my humor, be it witty or slightly dark. I try to offset the idea of dark humor most of the time with bright color. Only when it is fitting do I choose a moody color palette. This moody color palette can be seen in my piece, Bad Omens. I believe that this is because of growing up on the north shore of Boston, right next to Salem. This connection to here is what influenced my sense of humor. ​
My work is often rectangular, as I often create posters or print pieces. Most of my work is either 2d or 3d. I create with colors that are bold primaries or more muted tones. It often has bold text elements, from large words to contrasting colors. I like my work to have one point that stands out. My work incorporated an overview of branding for a business: ads, logos, products, and business stationery.
